Songs They'd Like To Forget

This appeared in Country Weekly - October 4, 1994

All singer/songwriters, no matter how successful they get, have composed songs they would rather forget. Mel Tillis and Marty Stuart are no exception. When they were asked about their favorite rejects on TNN; The Nashville Network's Music City Tonight, Mel sang "The KP Rhythm Of The Soldier Man," which he wrote while on "permanent KP duty" with the Air Force in Okinawa, Japan. Marty's skeleton in the closet was a song about a man meeting his future wife at Wal-Mart. The song concluded with the line, "you'll know your woman by what's in her cart!"
