Connie Smith said she wanted to bring out "a friend of mine" before introducing her new husband, Marty Stuart. The couple performed the "Jimmie Rodgers Blues," with Stuart providing accompaniment on a guitar once owned by the late Hank Williams. Rodgers was recently added to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, an honor shared by only three other country stars: Hank Williams, Johnny Cash and Bill Monroe. After Smith sang her 1964 No. 1 hit "Once A Day," Stuart told her and the audience, "That song is one of the reasons I fell in love with you a long time ago."
