This is from the Assoc. Press - February 11, 2009

Many star-shaped plaques are planned for the sidewalks in downtown Meridian, beginning Sunday with the unveiling of a star by Mississippi country music artist Marty Stuart.

The stars will honor of Mississippi artists who have made outstanding national and worldwide contributions to the arts. The honoree, whose name will not be revealed until the ceremony, was selected by the board of directors of the Mississippi Arts and Entertainment Center.

As part of the celebration, Stuart will perform in concert Sunday afternoon with fellow country music artist Kathy Mattea.

Stuart, who is a Philadelphia native, has six top-ten hits, one platinum album, five gold albums, and four Grammy awards. He is a singer, songwriter, and producer and has been performing since the age of 12.
