With FestivalSouth's opening weekend on the horizon, you can be sure the next two weeks are going to be full of stellar entertainment.

FestivalSouth's opening night will kick off the festival's fifth year in a big way Saturday as Marty Stuart and the Fabulous Superlatives hit the stage at the Saenger Theater.

Stuart's roots were put down in Philadelphia where he grew up singing gospel music. Now, the five-time Grammy Award-winning Grand Ole Opry superstar is an incredible performer who can enthrall an audience with his personal brand of native American-influenced honky-tonkin' "hillbilly rock" with a dash of gospel.

Stuart will be taking the stage with members of his backing band, the Fabulous Superlatives, comprised of guitarist Kenny Vaughan, drummer Harry Stinson and bassist Paul Martin.

With all that talent on one stage, country music lovers are sure to experience a memorable evening.

The show begins at 7:30 p.m. Make sure to get there early to get a good seat.
