Mississippi native Marty Stuart took the stage for half-an-hour at the Dixie National Rodeo, performing several of his hits. Stuart was born and raised in Philadelphia and became a child prodigy at the age of 12. The country music star has toured all over the world and has worked with such artists as Johnny Cash and the Staple Singers.

Stuart says he loves performing in the Magnolia State because there's no place like home. "I'd pay to come to Mississippi. I told someone I'd pay to come and drink the ice tea and visit, which is what I been doing since the moment I got here."

Stuart's tour includes upcoming shows in both Georgia and Florida next month.
