See Billy Bob's Latest With Marty Stuart

World's collide! Marty Stuart, Nashville's unofficial ambassador, has been hanging out with Matt Damon, Penelope Cruz (oh yeah!) and Billy Bob Thornton.

Seems Marty and Billy Bob have become pals and Marty and a few other Nashvillians wrote all the music for Billy Bob's latest, All The Pretty Horses.

The plot, "A couple of guys follow dreams to be cowboys and the guys absolutely go to hell and back," Marty says.

Call (615) 256-2105 if you wanna go to the screening at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Regal Green Hills 16. Your $10 will go to the T.J. Martell Foundation.

So how did Marty and Billy Bob ever get together? Seems the two knew each other's work and Billy Bob particularly was fond of Marty's efforts on The Pilgrim album. Marty like the way Billy Bob acted in Sling Blade.

So when the two ended up meeting on the set of Primary Colors, they had a brief mutual admiration society meeting. "He walked off the set and said, 'We've got to work together.' " Marty told me.

Marty was just a big skeptical. "I figured that was a good Hollywood howdy-do and that was it." But noooooo. Billy Bob, when he was doing his upcoming film Daddy & Them, called Marty to act in that film. "I said, 'I don't know about acting,' and he said, 'Would you consider doing the music?' I said, 'Now you're talkin.' "

So now All The Pretty Horses is the second Billy Bob movie that Marty's written music for.

Will Marty bring any stars to Thursday's Nashville premiere? "Yeah," he said, "Connie Smith."
